This is my favorite sushi spot in the neighborhood. The staff are always pleasant and the sushi is on point. This is a no frills spot at a good price point and they do well with what they offer. I always end up coming here once a week and they never disappoint. See you next week House of Sushi!

I was pleasantly surprised by House of Sushi. While this is not my top choice for sushi in SF, I've really enjoyed my meals there! I'll keep going back for the vibe, location (Polk St), and the price.
FOOD
I've ordered the chef's sushi set (around $18 I think) and the special hamachi roll ($12). Very good quality considering the affordable (for SF) price! I'd actually recommend other rolls apart from the nigiri set - I think you can get better nigiri at a similar price elsewhere. The other specialty rolls though, are really good and so worth it.
VIBE
Small, intimate, on the quiet side. Perfect for catching up with friends or even eating alone.
SERVICE
Excellent! They're always so friendly and attentive.
MONEY THO
The reasonable price definitely earns this place a star. At that location and for good sushi, the price is not bad at all! -

Love this place! This small, local sushi spot is just perfect. It's not over-the-top fancy, but it's good, quick, affordable sushi! The owners are very sweet and strike up great conversation. If you get to know them a bit, they always take care of you: plum wine, edamame, etc. Our favorites are: sake sashimi, unagi nigiri, ikura nigiri, and the hamachi roll. They offer several types of drinks (we usually get Kirin or Asahi and some hot sake). We always get seated quickly. While there's always a steady flow of customers, there usually isn't a long line. They're very accommodating - even when I've come in with several friends pretty close to closing time. Love the orange slices they bring with the check. My husband and I usually come by for dinner about once a month! Great spot - check it out!

Overall a big disappointment. We were trying to find a decent Japanese restaurant in the area and stopped in for dinner on the spur of the moment. The only good things I can say are the friendliness of the staff and cleanliness. The food was generally poor other than the seaweed salad. The miso soup was served lukewarm. The shumai dumplings were delivered last rather than first and were awful, like deep fried shoe leather. The salmon teriyaki was very ordinary and side salad no good. The hamachi lovers roll was virtually tasteless in all respects. The atmosphere was ruined by endless saxophone jazz, on and on and on.
No plans to return. -

This little sushi spot is a gem. I went with 3 friends on a Friday night so seating was difficult, but we found space at the bar. Due to it being busy our food took awhile, but when it did it was great! The fish on the sushi was amazingly fresh!
MThe staff was super nice and to top it off it was very inexpensive. Even with 4 bottles of sake & 4 beers, 3 apps, and 4 rolls our bill was right at $100. Will for sure be returning to this place.
